1. What is Content Moderation?
Content moderation basically refers to the practice of monitoring and analyzing user-generated submissions, such as reviews, videos, social media posts, or forum discussions. Based on predefined criteria, rules, and guidelines, content moderators will then decide whether a particular submission can be permissible or not on that platform.
In other words, when content (code, text, image, video, live-streaming) is submitted by any user to a platform, that piece of content has to go through a screening process (the moderation process) to make sure that the content adheres to the policies and regulations of that platform. Inappropriate content is therefore removed based on its legal status, or the potential to offend to protect innocent users from experiencing unacceptable content.
